长江学者，教授/主任医师，博士生导师，第二届全国创新争先奖章获得者，第十三届中国医师奖获得者，Fellow of American College Critical Care Medicine(USA)。曾任美国匹兹堡大学医学中心危重病医学系助理教授、美国杰克逊纪念医院器官移植麻醉专科医生。现任武汉大学中南医院重症医学科科主任，中华医学会重症医学分会全国常委暨湖北省主任委员、中国研究型医院学会危重医学专业委员会副主任委员、中国医师协会重症医学医师分会常委暨神经重症专家委员会委员、中国医师协会体外生命支持分会常委， 美国重症医学会科学评审委员会委员、欧洲重症学会急性肾损伤专业委员会委员、美国NIH项目评审专家、爱尔兰国家基金评审专家、中国国家自然科学基金评审专家、Joural of Critical Care (USA) 、SHOCK、Blood Purification (Europe)编委等。
